In ORT Israel, there is no compromise on the quality of achievements
or the spirit of giving. Educating for giving on one hand and the promotion of
science and technology on the other, the network believes that only this
combination can promote the social and economic fortitude of the State of
Israel.
As the largest educational network in Israel, ORT Israel has trained
over 500,000 graduates since its establishment in 1949, with a majority making
up the human infrastructure of the science and technology industry.
The ORT Israel network is spread throughout Israel,
from Hatzor, Wadi Salame and Ma’alot in the north to Arad, Abu Basma and
Yerucham in the south, providing socioeconomic advancement for over 100,000
students from all sectors of society – Jewish, Arab, Druze, Bedouin, religious
and secular.
The network manages over 160 schools and colleges,
providing educational solutions for every academic level including:
Comprehensive Schools (Junior and Senior High Schools), Industrial Schools,
Educational Centers, Technical and Engineering colleges and an Academic College
for Engineering.
In the post-elementary sector, ORT students account
for 12% of the national student population.
ORT Israel has developed a variety of institutional
models, investing heavily in preparing all students for the technological and
moral demands of the world in which we live.
Comprehensive Schools: Preparing students for further studies at colleges,
universities and the Technion. These schools have a Junior High sector where
emphasis is put on introductory studies in science and
technology.
Industrial Schools: A study
program that is combined with practical work at the industrial plant where the
school is located.
Education Centers:
Encourages students with special social and educational needs to
cultivate drive, vision and the tools for future success.
Technological Colleges:
Offering science and technology programs for degrees as technicians,
practical engineers and scientists in a range of technological disciplines.
Academic Colleges: Offering Bachelor and B.Ed programs in engineering
and technological disciplines. Institutions of higher learning recognize the
degrees in the various fields of engineering.
Diploma Studies: Studies
in a wide range of technological and academic subjects tailored to the demands
of local industry, institutions and the public sector.
